AARP Long Island Presents - a series of in-person and virtual events, in collaboration with Gold Coast Arts Center!

Adventure, love, drama, comedy, animation, science, history… short film programs provide it all and prove that good things can come in small packages.

1. Thursday, July 11, 2024: 7 p.m. | RETRO FILM IN-PERSON EVENT

Gold Coast Arts will present a live screening of the 80’s classic film Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Helen Hunt). The event will include music, swag bags and drinks. AARP Long Island is a proud sponsor of this event.  Please feel free to stop by our AARP table and meet volunteers! They will have giveaways, information and resources, and share what we do in your community!

2. Tuesday, October 29, 2024: 7 p.m. | “BEST OF THE FEST” SHORT FILM IN-PERSON EVENT

Gold Coast will present a free live screening of the BEST short films from the last 14 years of the Gold Coast Int’l Film Festival. The event will take place at Manhasset Cinemas (seating capacity 150) and will be free for AARP members and guests to attend, courtesy of AARP Long Island.  Registration is required to secure a seat to this VIP special event.

3. SHORT FILM SUNDAYS

A FREE virtual series of short film programs curated by Gold Coast International Film Festival! Adventure, love, drama, comedy, animation, science, history… short film programs provide it all and prove that good things can come in small packages. Join us again each week for a new program of short films curated just for AARP Long Island by the team at the award-winning Gold Coast International Film Festival. All programs run approximately one hour long and are FREE to watch from the comfort and safety of your home. You are welcome to register for one or all the movies! You do not have to be an AARP member to register. Advanced registration is required. Look out for our emails with registration links each week before the program. Registration is required to access the short films. You will receive a code after your registration has been confirmed.
