1. AARP New York Hispanic Heritage Celebration Kick Off Buffalo
Stop by the AARP table to meet staff and volunteers to find out what we're doing in your community! We'll be at the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m ET.

2. Free Screening of "Clemente"
Join AARP New York for a free screening of "Clemente" at the New York Latino Film Festival's opening night!
Explore the life and legacy of Roberto Clemente, from his journey in Puerto Rico to becoming a baseball legend, in this documentary executive produced by LeBron James and Richard Linklater. Featuring appearances by Vera Clemente, Rita Moreno, Michael Keaton, and Bob Costas.

3. Salsa Night at Cantina Bay in Copiague, NY
Join AARP Long Island and JVC Radio’s La Fiesta 98.5 FM on Thursday, September 19 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. ET for a FREE admission Salsa Night at Cantina Bay in Copiague NY! A night of fun giveaways, salsa dancing, and a chance to win a $50 gas card. For the dance floor, we have a live performance by Santana y Orquesta La Elegancia with DJ John G from JVC La Fiesta Radio. On AARP Long Island, as part of our initiative Let’s Get Social on Social Security, we’re sponsoring a salsa night just in time for Hispanic Heritage month. We invite you to come dance with us, come by the AARP table to meet volunteers and staff, learn more about what we’re doing in the local community, and get resources and info on Social Security.
4. Caring for Dementia Together: En Español
This free, in-person event is tailored for Hispanic/Latinx caregivers. Learn dementia caregiving strategies from expert Juan Carlos Rojas in Spanish and explore supportive resources that meet your needs. Connect with others who share your journey.

5. Jazz Dance: Workout Mondays with IndoRican Dance and Fitness
This virtual Jazz Dance class, which runs weekly through November 4th, will introduce a full-body warm-up, and introduce the roots, history, and movement styles as we explore new dance rhythms. In our virtual Jazz Dance series, we’ll work individually and in teams as we introduce the roots, history, and variety of movement styles while exploring new dance rhythms.
