Grab some popcorn and get ready for movie night—on your couch or in your community.
For seven years, AARP Long Island has presented Short Film Sundays, a free series of hour-long movies curated by the Gold Coast International Film Festival. The last few seasons were virtual due to the pandemic.
This year, viewers can watch online or in person. The Nassau County venues are being finalized; updates will be available at aarp.org/local.
For those watching from home, a new film will be available the second Sunday of the month in October, November and December. The program is open to all, but registration is required. The themes and registration links are:
- An I Love New York! category will spotlight the Big Apple and movies by New York–based filmmakers: events.aarp.org/GCFilmOct8th.
- Family Favorites will show movies for those watching with kids and grandchildren: events.aarp.org/GCFilmNov12th.
- Love Is In The Air! will feature short films about relationships: events.aarp.org/GCFilmDec10th.
Registrants will be able to access the films starting at midnight on each date and will have 24 hours to watch.
