Friedman Theatre (with a talk back after the show on February 5 th with members of the cast and the playwright). Choir Boy tells the story of a talented student who waits for years to become leader of his school's gospel choir at the Charles R. Drew Prep School for Boys, which for a half a century has been dedicated to the education of black men. Written by Tarell Alvin McCraney (Oscar®-winning screenwriter of Moonlight and MacArthur Fellowship Grant recipient) and directed by Trip Cullman (Murder Ballad), this play brings soaring music and a provocative story to life!
