Are you looking to jumpstart your fitness and nutrition journey, but not sure where to begin? Connect with AARP New York for a three-part virtual series, Let’s Get Fit, with personal trainer, Damian Raibon. This comprehensive series covers how to obtain the proper mindset to achieve your fitness goals, how to build a nutrition plan, and demonstrate basic exercises for maximum physical impact.
When you exercise for any length of time, your heart beats more strongly, your blood flow and breathing rate increase, and cellular activity changes, notes David Katz, past president of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and author of Disease-Proof: The Remarkable Truth About What Makes Us Well. Learn more about the Perks of Intermittent Workouts.
In addition to improving your physical and heart health, exercise could contribute to better cognition and memory, power the "feel-good" brain chemicals serotonin and dopamine, and bring in more nutrients to your body according to an AARP article.
Join us for educational events that could put your physical and mental health on the right track!
