As part of our ongoing commitment in keeping our communities informed in the face of the global Coronavirus pandemic, we are continuing our efforts in providing up to date information and resources to help the public at large protect themselves from the virus and prevent its spread to others.

AARP New York has been hostingTelephone Town Hall meetings featuring Beth Finkel, AARP NY State Director and subject matter experts where they discuss pertinent information relevant to COVID-19.

During the interactive phone call, audiences will learn about how to protect themselves and their loved ones, as well as the opportunity to have their questions answered.

On March 20, we kicked off our TTH with Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul and Greg Olson, Director for the State Office of the Aging where they shared their thoughts on the Coronavirus and how it affects older adults. Most recently, we had Dr. Howard Zucker (March 27) as the subject matter expert where he shared all things on the subject of Health during the pandemic.

Additionally, we were joined by both Senator Charles Schumer and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand who shared the actions the Federal Government has taken, to direct payments and unemployment benefits that affect our New York community.
