A diverse group of community leaders held a special forum and luncheon, “ Women Working Together for Better Health” in Rocky Mount on October 4.
Nearly 300 participants learned more about public policy changes that improve the health care for women, including implementing provisions of the Affordable Care Act, the new federal health care law.
- Created a larger, more inspired vision of health care
- Outlined a set of principles and essential qualities that should guide the health care system
- Developed a framework to inform policies and practices that shape health care
- Prepared a final report on the forum, including public policy recommendations on women’s health needs
