AARP, government agencies and community groups will conduct an older drivers symposium and resource fair from noon to 4 p.m. May 19 in Gaithersburg’s Asbury Methodist Village.
The event will help “older adults and their family members to examine the issue of driver safety and to increase their awareness of the alternatives to driving,” said Shawn Brennan of Montgomery County Aging and Disability Services, chairwoman of the planning committee.
Topics include pharmaceutical interactions and driving, road safety, benefits of AARP Driver Safety courses and more. AARP also offers an online seminar to help broach the subject of when to limit or stop driving.
Register for the fair by calling 877-926-8300 toll-free. To learn more, visit aarp.org/md.
