This summer, AARP Pennsylvania is hitting the road in a decked-out van to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Social Security. Our Social Security Road Trip is all about meeting Pennsylvanians where they are. At each stop, we’re attending local events, collecting stories, and hearing directly from people about what Social Security means to them.

AARP is launching a nationwide movement, I Am A Caregiver. To many lawmakers, America’s millions of caregivers are invisible. Yet, these family caregivers hold up a broken long-term care system, which is why AARP is looking for your help.
Addressing the state’s housing affordability crisis will be among AARP Arizona’s top advocacy priorities in 2025. It is urging lawmakers to renew and expand the state’s Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program, which allocates up to $4 million annually for the construction of affordable rental units.
As road dangers increase, AARP helps older Oregonians protect themselves.
In New Jersey, AARP is working on multiple fronts to reduce food insecurity among older residents--from supporting food pantries to advocating for higher SNAP benefits.

Maudie Scott’s view of what constitutes a community—its scars, attributes and potential—started taking shape when, at age 10, she joined her sharecropper parents in harvesting South Carolina tobacco. The field owner’s children, who were white, also gathered leaves during the fall harvest.
Across the Northeast, AARP state offices are currently recruiting new volunteers to serve in a variety of roles. And those who volunteer now say their work—on everything from fraud prevention to legislative advocacy—is highly rewarding.
