Another Brick in the Wall: LEGOs as Art

SCHOOL SUPPLES

LEGO bricks as works of art? You can see for yourself, using your AARP discount to visit “The Art of the Brick” exhibit at Pacific Science Center in Seattle through Sept. 11.

Named one of CNN’s top 10 global must-see exhibitions, artist Nathan Sawaya’s exhibit features a critically acclaimed collection of creations made exclusively from LEGOs.

As the world’s largest display of LEGOs, the collection includes original artwork along with interpretations of Leonardo’s Mona Lisa and Van Gogh’s The Starry Night. The exhibit also showcases an innovative multimedia collection of LEGO-infused photography produced with award-winning photographer Dean West.

AARP members and their guests receive a 10 percent discount on this exhibit and on “The International Exhibition of Sherlock Homes,” scheduled for the center from Oct. 15 through Jan. 8. AARP members also receive a 10 percent discount on general admission and IMAX documentaries year-round.

To purchase tickets for “The Art of the Brick,” go to pacificsciencecenter.org or call 800-664-8775. Use the code MK AARP16 to receive a discount when buying online, or show your AARP member card at the door. —Dana E. Neuts
