  • AARP New Hampshire is a strong advocate for Granite Staters 50-plus and their families. We work with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to support legislation and issues that make our state a great place to live for people of all ages.
  • AARP Indiana's volunteer team in Fort Wayne has been having a lot of fun this summer! In June, the team participated in the Movies For Grownups events that were held across the state and were able to view Karate Kid: Legends on the big screen. In July, they held a guided nature walk at Eagle Marsh. Both events were a great success and a wonderful opportunity to connect with members in the community.   • AARP stands with individuals with disabilities, their families, and caregivers in support of policies that promote independence, financial security, and quality of life. As an organization dedicated to empowering individuals as they age, AARP represents the interests of over 100 million Americans aged 50 and over, including the more than 22,000 members living here in the Virgin Islands. AARP urged the committee to act in favor for advancing the financial security for disabled Virgin Islanders and their families, by ultimately passing this legislation.

This collaboration allows caregivers to easily connect with local 211 specialists who can help them find services like transportation, food delivery, home safety, respite care, and more.   • Coconut Grove, a historic neighborhood in Miami-Dade County, is home to one of this year’s AARP Community Challenge Grant winners: Friends of the Commodore Trail. This five-and-a-half-mile nature trail has been a popular place for walking, biking, and socializing. However, it’s also much more to the community – this trail connects 13 parks and 12 schools, is a wildlife corridor, and gives neighbors a way to meet each other.
