Florida lawmakers are considering proposals to let payday lenders charge interest rates that could add up to 200 percent per year on loans twice as big as allowed under current law – and AARP Florida is fighting back.

The month of February allows individuals to pay homage by reflecting on the past, while focusing on the future. In commemoration of Black History Month, AARP is offering a free admission day to the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018. The first 300 people will enter free of charge.

If you earned $53,930 or less last year, you could receive a larger refund if you qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). If you have three or more qualifying children, you could get a maximum credit of up to $6,318. Even if you don’t have children, it could mean up to $510 added to your tax refund.
