How to sustain a livable, thriving community as the nation’s demographics change was the topic of discussion during the opening session of the 2023 AARP Livable Communities Economic Development Workshop held Sept. 27.
RALEIGH, NC — Throughout 2023, AARP advocates in North Carolina helped push for improvements and funding that will help protect the health, wealth, and personal well-being of the state’s growing population of older adults. These improvements are critical when it comes to meeting the needs of older adults, who will soon outnumber residents in the state ages 18 and younger.

Join us for AARP California’s Let’s Take it Outside™ series that allows participants to learn about and explore outdoor public places and spaces.
According to AARP, “A walk audit is an activity in which participants observe and evaluate the walkability of a location to identify and document if and how pedestrians can safely travel along a street, navigate an intersection, and get from Point A to B and C and so on.”
Governor Scott signed the HOME Act into law on June 5, heralding a big win for housing and livability advocates across Vermont, as well as the community members they serve.
