About 3,000 AARP volunteers, some of whom have served for decades, are gearing up to open more than 300 sites in churches, community halls, libraries and other sites across Florida in the coming days to help Floridians age 50-plus fulfill their annual federal income-tax obligation.
The Create the Good Dream Builders Video Contest is open through February 7. This initiative, in its second year, builds on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s “I have a dream” message as well as AARP’s commitment to livable communities and service. The contest invites individuals to submit a video about a “dream” volunteer project they are currently working on - or want to carry out - in collaboration with a community non-profit. AARP will narrow down the entries and then post the 12 finalists for a public vote, which will be held from February 15 through 28. The Grand Prize is a $2,500 donation to the non-profit acknowledged in the winner’s video entry to help bring their dream project to life. The top three runner-ups will win $500 donations to support their efforts. Please help us spread the word to individuals across your state!
