Scammers are on the prowl with Americans’ increased anxiety over the coronavirus pandemic. This is of particular concern as we commemorate May’s Military Appreciation Month given veterans and military families are twice as likely as civilians to be targeted by con artists.
On Memorial Day, our nation honors military service members who have given their lives for our country. Families, friends, and communities pause to remember the many great sacrifices of our military and ensure their legacy lives on in the freedoms we all enjoy. We recognize these heroes who, in President Lincoln’s words, “gave the last full measure of devotion.”
As May is National Military Appreciation Month, AARP Virginia would like to feature our members who are also veterans. For the first week, we proudly introduce Suba Satyanarayan, who served in the United States Air Force for 25 years. In this brief interview, he recounts memorable times from his career and sends a message to those currently serving.
