AARP Michigan volunteers report their experiences and signing up for COVID-19 vaccinations, obtaining an appointment, and actually getting the shot in the arm.

AARP Texas President John Vasquez recently reflected on the legacy of AARP's founder in remarks to the Executive Council of volunteer leaders.

Serious illness affects all populations, yet some groups experience higher rates than others for a range of reasons, such as socioeconomic conditions and access to health care. The number of uninsured continues to climb in North Carolina, with COVID-19 exacerbating an already existing hole in coverage for many.

From food bank deliveries, to ride sharing, to emailing state legislators, AARP South Carolina volunteers adapt and continue their service.

Our federal advocacy volunteers serve as AARP Virginia’s volunteer representatives to their Member of Congress and assist in the implementation of projects that inform the public of AARP’s federal legislative priorities.

Cox has done and seen it all. Tough but compassionate gun-toting court officer, mom to two daughters, world traveler, chorale singer, expert seamstress, octogenarian zip-liner, integration trailblazer, theater usher in her spare time, longest serving AARP volunteer, niece to one of Detroit’s most celebrated figures... and that only touches on a handful of the highlights.

AARP Maryland’s Speakers Bureau offers presentations on how to get involved with AARP and on a wide array of other topics aimed at people 50 and older. Since the pandemic, the talks have gone virtual.
