To ease the burden on an estimated 183,000 unpaid family caregivers in the state, AARP is spreading the word about ServiceLink, New Hampshire’s system of aging and disability resource centers.

Located in each of the state’s 10 counties, the resource centers are staffed by trained counselors who provide free assessments, direct caregivers to resources such as respite help and support groups, and suggest strategies to manage the stress of tending to a loved one’s needs.

An AARP survey shows that over a 12-month period, nearly one out of three New Hampshire adults has provided unpaid caregiving for someone.

To find a ServiceLink resource center near you, go to servicelink.org or call 866-634-9412 toll-free.
