Support Coverage for Hard-Working Buckeyes

By 401(K) 2013

AARP Ohio is urging lawmakers to support Republican Gov. John Kasich’s proposal to extend health coverage to hard-working Ohioans in low-wage jobs without insurance.

As lawmakers wrestle to adopt a two-year budget by a July 1 deadline, AARP is asking members to urge lawmakers to extend coverage to single Ohioans with annual income up to $15,856 and couples with income up to $21,404.

“The governor’s proposal will help 50- to 64-year-olds who’ve lost their jobs or are struggling in lower-paying jobs without health insurance and cannot currently qualify for coverage only because they do not have dependent children at home,” said AARP volunteer Bob Notestine of Bellefontaine.
