AARP Eye Center
AARP Connecticut is recruiting volunteers to help other state residents prepare and file their returns in the tax season ahead. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide offers free face-to-face help for low- to moderate-income taxpayers, especially those age 60-plus.
In Connecticut, more than 580 trained volunteers helped nearly 33,000 residents file their 2012 tax returns at 95 sites, including libraries and senior and community centers.
Volunteers are needed not only to prepare tax returns but also to greet people, maintain computers, manage the program and translate. Orientations will be held in December and January. For details, go to aarp.org/taxvolunteer.
