Here at AARP Texas, our hearts go out to everyone in Oklahoma who is dealing with Monday’s tragedy and working to rebuild and recover. In the communities most severely affected, many older Oklahomans, including AARP members, their families and neighbors, are struggling to recover from the twister’s impact.
It’s always amazing to see how people step up to help in times of need, an outpouring of goodwill that never fails in times of tragedy. No matter what you can give, any little bit helps. Recovery efforts are still ongoing.
By donating to the AARP Foundation relief fund, you can help the victims of the tornadoes. AARP and the AARP Foundation will match contributions up to $250,000 to support older Oklahomans who are struggling to recover from the tornadoes. Fully 100% of donations will be used to help the victims of this disaster.
In addition, you can donate to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The Red Cross also suggests giving blood, or donating to many of Oklahoma’s charitable organizations, such as the Food Bank and local United Way. U.S. News has more suggestions.
