AARP Utah is awarding its highest volunteer honor to Nikki Boyer, leader of the Utah Pride Center, which serves the Salt Lake City lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. As president of its board and a longtime mentor and volunteer with other organizations, Boyer was selected for the AARP Utah Andrus Award for Community Service, which commemorates AARP founder Ethel Percy Andrus.

Also singled out for honors at the Oct. 8 Volunteer Leadership Summit is Lorina Manwill, winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award. Other honorees work with groups ranging from the Adopt-a-Native-Elder program to the Tracy Aviary.
