AARP Iowa wants to expand its network of GREAT volunteers—that is, its Grassroots, Elections and Advocacy Team.

AARP Iowa’s current 100 GREAT volunteers work to keep Social Security strong, keep utility costs down and help older Iowans live independently in their homes. AARP would like at least one GREAT volunteer to serve in each of Iowa’s 99 counties.

“The time commitment is highly flexible and ideal for busy people who want to volunteer according to their schedules and interests,” said Ann Black of AARP Iowa.

Training sessions will be scheduled in community centers across the state between June and October.

To become an AARP volunteer, contact Connie Eastman at AARP Iowa toll-free at 866-554-5378 or email ceastman@aarp.org.
