Job Search in the Digital Age will be held on Feb. 18 from 10-11:15 a.m. at the Cottonwood Room of the Laramie County Public Library at 2200 Pioneer Avenue in Cheyenne. The course is free and there is no requirement to be an AARP member to take part.

Caregivers are encouraged to take part in AARP Wyoming’s popular series, Care for Caregivers, on Mondays in March. The weekly series, which explores self-care topics for caregivers, will be held at the Laramie County Public Library, 2200 Pioneer Avenue, in Cheyenne.

Cheyenne's Julie Tucker was first bit by the advocacy bug when she was elected vice president of her unit in Laramie County School District 1. Her time in that role lasted just six months until a resignation led her to take over the presidency of the unit. A member of the Wyoming Education Association Board of Directors, she has spent 25 years advocating for educators. This year Tucker became a strong member of the AARP advocacy team as she updated the retired teachers of Cheyenne on AARP legislation. She also developed a working relationship with those in the Legislative Service Office to gain a better understanding of AARP legislation, and taught others new to the process more about the legislative process.
AARP Wyoming will host a teletown hall Monday, Oct. 16 to discussion changes in Medicare. The event will be moderated by Wyoming Public Radio personality Bob Beck and AARP Wyoming State Director Sam Shumway. The call will start at 6:30 p.m. and will feature local experts who are available to answer your questions.
CHEYENNE - AARP Wyoming will be a part of three events in Sheridan County next week intended to fight scams and keep your identity safe.
CHEYENNE - Southwest Wyoming, caregivers will have the opportunity to take part in Alzheimer's simulations on loss of memory, reduced vision and hearing during two AARP-sponsored events on Alzheimer’s and dementia, Oct. 11 in Green River, and Oct. 12 in Rock Springs.
CHEYENNE - AARP Wyoming and Wyoming Center on Aging are sponsoring Caring for Our Elders, Oct. 11-12 in the Cottonwood Room of the Wind River Casino in Riverton.
Event Will Feature Simulations On Loss of Memory, Reduced Vision, and Hearing

Wyoming AARP State Director Sam Shumway will participate in a panel discussion called, “Healthcare in Wyoming: What is Next for Us,” on Sept. 14 from 6-8 p.m. at the Laramie County Library in Cheyenne. The event is sponsored by the Wyoming Chapter of the League of Women Voters.
AARP Wyoming announced two winners for the AARP Community Challenge, aiming to create change and improve quality of life at the community-level. The winning projects include projects in Casper as well as Jackson. Both grants will be used to fund age-friendly bus stops in their respective communities.
Sometimes legislation in Congress has unintended consequences. This is one of those times. The proposed Senate health care bill would increase costs and risks for individuals in Wyoming including: seniors, children and adults with disabilities, people with pre-existing conditions, and those ages 50-64.
