Wish of a Lifetime, an AARP charitable affiliate, has fulfilled more than 2,500 wishes for adults 65 and older. The wishes are wide reaching, from introducing a grandparent to a grandchild they had only recently learned existed to helping a woman go to clown college.
AARP volunteer Kay Spear-Budd, 55, understands the importance of supporting Alaska’s veterans, which the U.S. Census Bureau counts at more than 60,000. After all, she is one. An officer with the U.S. Air Force’s Air National Guard, she retired after nearly 34 years of service.
The trips to DC are fulfilled through Wish of a Lifetime, a charitable affiliate of AARP that grants life-changing wishes to older adults and inspires people to redefine aging in America. The Wyoming Voyage of Valor is a Wyoming-specific trip that brings 20 veterans and their companion to Washington in May of 2024.
Mills will be honored at halftime of the Wyoming-Colorado State game, designated by the University of Wyoming as Military Appreciation Day. Mills and his family will receive a seat upgrade and parking pass from the University of Wyoming.

Wish of a Lifetime from AARP Wyoming celebrates veterans 65 and older with a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Washington, D.C., to see the monuments and memorials built to honor their service and sacrifice. Over four days, the veterans develop meaningful connections as they share unforgettable moments while reflecting upon their service to our country.
AARP Oklahoma is now providing free resource kits for veterans and military families.
AARP and Blue Star Families will host a free, virtual event to help veterans and military spouses leverage upskilling and technology to accelerate their careers and find flexible or remote career paths.
