AARP and other members of Baltimore County Restoring Elder Safety Today will rally to raise awareness of the issue of elder abuse at noon June 14 in Towson.

Up to 10 percent of older adults are neglected or abused physically, emotionally or sexually each year, according to the National Center on Elder Abuse. Speakers at the rally at the Baltimore County

Public Library’s Towson branch, 320 York Road, will discuss the financial exploitation of older adults, how to recognize signs of abuse, and how and where to report it.

A free hour-long seminar at 1:15 p.m., geared to those whose jobs involve contact with older people, provides a continuing education credit for social workers. Register by calling 410-887-4202.
