Portland Parks & Recreation is already a treasure for the city, but as our region grows, it is timely to be thinking about the future of parks in the city and the region. AARP is excited to support Portland Parks Foundation’s Green Dreams: Seeding Portland’s Next Parks Movement series this March.

Housing is fundamental to quality of life for people of all ages and abilities, family compositions, incomes and backgrounds. Unfortunately safe and stable homes are becoming unattainable for many in our communities. AARP Oregon is working hard on behalf of people 50 plus and their families to expand accessible, affordable and varied housing choices in our states and communities.
Share your experience, skills and passion while helping AARP achieve the goals that 50+ residents of your state care about most as an AARP Oregon volunteer. Research shows that volunteering contributes to better health and overall wellbeing. In addition, volunteers are a backbone of our communities.
There are many reasons for walking - for health and wellness, to get to places and save gas, and of course, to connect with community! Join AARP Oregon and Rogue Valley Transportation District this year for some great NeighborWalks in the Rogue Valley. Get your steps in, meet new people, and explore Ashland, Medford and Grantspass on foot.
Join AARP Oregon for a great day of soccer action when the Portland Thorns FC host the Chicago Red Stars on Saturday, August 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Providence Park! Cheer on our hometown team and the 2017 National Women’s Soccer League champions while enjoying time with family and friends. AARP members and guests will have reserved seats in Section 209. Visit the AARP Oregon information table in the main concourse outside Section 216 to learn about the work we are doing locally and to enter to win a signed Portland Thorns FC jersey. In 2018, the fourth season of NeighborWalks begins in June! We excited about the fabulous walks we have planned for in and around Portland. One exciting thing this year is that we are expanding our walks to include Clackamas and Washington counties!
