AARP Mississippi invites local eligible non-profit organizations and governments across the state to apply for the 2025 AARP Community Challenge grant program, now through March 5, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern. AARP Community Challenge grants fund quick-action projects that help communities become more livable by improving public places, transportation, housing, digital connections, and more. Now in its ninth year, the program is part of AARP’s nationwide Livable Communities initiative, which supports the efforts of cities, towns, neighborhoods and rural areas to become great places to live for all residents, especially those age 50 and older.

AARP Minnesota is excited to announce the addition of Lonnie Duberstein and Lisa Radosevich-Craig to the volunteer Executive Council. These new members bring extensive experience from both the public and private sectors, and their collaborative efforts will be instrumental in furthering our mission to strengthen our state. The Executive Council helps shape the strategic direction and execute the mission of AARP Minnesota – ensuring that AARP remains a relevant resource and influential voice for people 50+ in our state and across our communities.

AARP Massachusetts announces the appointment of D. JacQuie Cairo-Williams as its new State President, the top state volunteer post within the organization’s influential network of volunteers. As the nation’s largest nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, AARP’s state presidents work in partnership with their respective state directors, staff and volunteers to lead AARP’s important advocacy and programmatic work. Cairo-Williams replaces outgoing volunteer state president Sandra Harris who served in the role since 2019.
