AARP is accepting nominations until August 15 for its 2024 Iowa Andrus Award for Community Service, an annual award honoring a 50+ volunteer in the state who is sharing their experience, talent, and skills to enrich the lives of their community members.

The Iowa House and Senate unanimously passed elder abuse legislation in 2022. The bill was signed by Governor Reynolds on June 15 and is effective July 1, 2022.
