The Montana State legislature convenes for only 90 days every two years. With the 2013 session on the horizon, AARP Montana is encouraging member participation in the legislative process by signing up as an e-activist.
With the new legislative session underway, AARP Montana is advocating for tax relief measures, support for family caregivers, better home care services, increased financial security and ways to combat elder abuse.

More than three in four respondents find it extremely or very important that Montana legislators eliminate or reduce the tax on Social Security benefits in Montana and 68% want property tax relief.
The majority of Montanans 45 and older are in favor of a state income tax exemption or reduction in tax rates for Social Security income, according to the latest “Vital Voices” survey from AARP Montana.
