In addition to the long-term care reform bills Governor Murphy signed last month, these significant pieces of legislation will help protect residents and staff in nursing homes and long-term care facilities in the Garden State.
No household in New Jersey will have electricity, gas or water shut off for non-payment through March 15, 2021
New Jersey’s investor-owned gas, electric and water utilities are ending their voluntary commitment to suspend shutoffs for non-payment during the COVID-19 pandemic, effective October 15.
AARP New Jersey applauds Governor Murphy for signing a state budget today that includes a number of AARP-supported priorities such as, restoring property tax relief for older New Jerseyans, allocating startup funding for the New Jersey Secure Choice Savings Program, ensuring a healthy pension payment, and maintaining Medicaid funding.

AARP New Jersey’s guests provided information on how to stay informed and stay healthy during the pandemic. From March through June, there was more than 40,000 participants on the calls combined.
