Experience the Thrill: Musical Hits and Laser Light Shows

AARP Long Island is thrilled to sponsor and connect with AARP members and guests at the 2025 Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum and Reichert Planetarium in Centerport, at Music Laser Light shows! Music lovers can enjoy these immersive visual shows that are projected overhead on a 60-foot dome. The Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium is located in Centerport.

Come by the AARP table in the lobby before, during or after each show and meet us to learn more about what AARP is doing in the local community. Grateful Dead: Fridays (May 2 – May 30)
Embark on a psychedelic journey through sound and space with Laser Grateful Dead, a mesmerizing laser show set to the iconic music of the Grateful Dead. Immerse yourself in stunning visuals, twirling to the Dead's most beloved songs, including "Truckin'", "Dark Star," and "Sugar Magnolia." Lasers in the dome will transport you to a cosmic realm where the boundaries of time and space dissolve.

Bowie: Saturdays (May 3 – May 31)
Laser Bowie celebrates the musical legacy of the enigmatic chameleon of music David Bowie. Enjoy the glam and spectacle of lasers dancing along with the music of one of the most influential artists in music. Set List includes Oh! You Pretty Thing, Let's Dance, Starman, Life On Mars to name a few!

Prince: Fridays (June 6 – July 11)
Prince, the enigmatic flamboyant musical virtuoso from Minneapolis reshaped the music scene. His imaginative music blends funk, rock, R&B, new wave, soul, and pop. Laser Prince celebrates his musical legacy with an amazing soundtrack, beautiful laser choreography, and of course a lot of purple.

Metallica: Saturdays (June 7 – July 12)
Metallica, a pioneer in the heavy metal genre, has been hailed by critics and fans around the world for their musicianship and force. Now, Metallica’s tempos, instrumentals, themes and sound are enhanced with laser imagery. Your pulse and body will pound as the music fills your ears and eyes. U2: Saturdays (July 19 – August 23)
Combining big ideas and big sounds, Laser U2 explores the band's long musical history in vibrant laser light. It's an amazing way to experience the power and passion of one of the world's most prolific groups. Your eyes and ears will be your guides into an immersive journey through this British band’s rise and success!  Songs include Beautiful Day, October, The Fly, Pride, New Year’s Day, and many more.

Sgt Pepper’s Light Show: Fridays (August 29 – October 3)
Sgt. Pepper's Laser Light Show is a magical way to experience the influential concept album from The Beatles. Combining laser technology with the Beatles’ groundbreaking album results in a laser show that resurrects the spirit of the late 60s, and adds a modern twist.  Songs include With a Little Help from My Friends, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, When I'm 64, Lovely Rita, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise), A Day in the Life, and many more.

Rolling Stones: Saturdays (August 30 – October 4)
One of the most influential rock bands of all time, The Rolling Stones were in the vanguard of the British Invasion. Laser Rolling Stones brings their greatest hits to life with the magic of laser light. Queen: Fridays (October 10 – November 14)
Queen's epic songs provided a soundtrack to the 70s and 80s. Laser Queen was inspired by these Rock and Roll Hall of Famers and combines their biggest hit songs with intense laser programming for one heck of a show.  Songs include We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions, Bicycle Race, Under Pressure, Another One Bites the Dust, and many more.

Journey: Saturdays (October 11 – November 15)
Laser Journey: Don’t Stop Believing - With world wide album sales of close to 90 million records, Journey is one of the biggest arena rock bands ever. Featuring dazzling guitar solos and melodies you can’t help but sing along with, Laser Journey brings this timeless music to life in brilliant laser light. Whether you first fell in love with Journey's songs while rollerskating in the 80’s, watching American Idol or Glee, Laser Journey is a fun for audiences of all ages.

Led Zeppelin: Fridays (November 21 – December 26)
Led Zeppelin is proclaimed by many critics to be the progenitors of heavy metal and hard rock, and their individualistic style reset the standards for many musical genres in the 1960s and ‘70s. Indeed, they have been hailed as one of the most successful, innovative, and influential bands, alongside Pink Floyd, U2, and the Beatles. Now you can relive the magical sounds of Led Zeppelin while enjoying a visual treat of custom laser imagery.  Songs include Over the Hills and Far Away, Kashmir, Song Remains the Same, Black Dog, Whole Lotta Love, and many more.

Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon: Saturdays (November 22 – December 27)
Dark Side of the Moon is one of the most startling and bizarre laser light shows of all time!  Its sonic backdrops and atmospheric soundscapes, combined with a unique assortment of sound effects, yield an emotional resonance. When accompanied by a diverse and unusual display of laser art, the overall feel is a dramatic and haunting atmosphere.  Songs include Breathe, On the Run, Money, Brain Damage, Eclipse, and many more.
