Oyster Bay Man Is AARP's 2017 Advocate of the Year

FullSizeRender

AARP would like to Congratulate Alan Lichtenthal from Town of Oyster Bay team, as this year's Advocate of the Year volunteer award.

Alan is the Town of Oyster Bay Lead in Advocacy.  He was instrumental during our Take A Stand on the ground campaign at Hofstra University during the Presidential debate.  With his educational outreach help, university students received a better understanding of the importance of securing Social Security for now and future generations.  Most recently, Alan has done a terrific job mobilizing volunteers via email communications, meeting presentations and vigorous follow-up - and has accomplished a number of Long Island district lobby visits, strongly advocating for the many issues AARP is working on, for people 50+ and older.

Alan has volunteered for just about every local community event we offer for volunteer engagement.  He has consistently displayed what it takes to be a great all-around volunteer, with strong outreach and advocacy.  He is incredibly reliable, trustworthy and is a great role model.

We thank Alan for his great work and dedication to AARP! We appreciate all your hard work, support, and commitment.
