AARP Indiana and SWIRCA & More invite Hoosiers of all ages to join us in the Dragon's Den for our free virtual tai chi sessions. Sifu Ron will lead participants through light movement, mindful breathing, and easy-to-follow exercises that deliver a meaningful workout and energy flow. The monthly sessions will provide a sense of community right from the comfort of your own home.
Building great communities takes time – but small, tangible improvements can spark lasting change. That’s the idea behind the AARP Community Challenge, a grant program launched in 2017 to support quick-action projects that enhance livability nationwide.
The events will take place in Laramie, Sheridan, and Cheyenne and feature Zach Hutchinson, Community Science Coordinator with Audubon of the Rockies, teaching participants how to spot, identify, and observe birds in their natural habitat.
At AARP Virgin Islands, we are committed to uplifting the cultural traditions that strengthen our community and connect generations. This past weekend, the 27th Annual Bordeaux Farmers Agricultural & Cultural Vegan Food Fair on St. Thomas once again showcased the resilience, creativity, and agricultural brilliance of our Virgin Islands community. As proud supporters of the event, we were especially honored to sponsor its beloved highlight — the Coal Pot Lighting Competition.
This year, the celebration was even more meaningful for our AARP family: Mr. Rabsatt — an AARP VI volunteer and proud resident of St. John — won the Coal Pot Lighting Competition, demonstrating exceptional skill, cultural pride, and mastery of this cherished tradition.
In 2025, six communities across North Dakota got a boost in their work to become more livable for residents of all ages.

I’ll celebrate my 10th year anniversary with AARP this year. When I started, I could not have fully anticipated how deeply this mission would become part of my life. What began as a professional opportunity quickly grew into a calling—one grounded in listening to older Wyomingites, working alongside passionate volunteers, and advocating for policies that help people live with dignity, independence, and purpose.
Birdwatching is no longer a niche hobby. A U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service study shows that 16% of Americans travel specifically to go birding, with particularly strong participation among adults age 55 and older. It’s accessible, mentally engaging, and easy to enjoy, whether you travel far or stay close to home.
AARP Kansas hosted its annual Advocacy Day—affectionately known as Cookie Day—at the Kansas Statehouse. This event brings volunteers together to meet with legislators, share cookies, and most importantly, discuss issues that matter to Kansans age 50 and older.
