This summer, AARP Pennsylvania is hitting the road in a decked-out van to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Social Security. Our Social Security Road Trip is all about meeting Pennsylvanians where they are. At each stop, we’re attending local events, collecting stories, and hearing directly from people about what Social Security means to them.

Assisted living facilities that offer memory care must now employ specialized staff trained in handling dementia patients, under a new law supported by AARP Delaware.
Eight Illinois entities received 2024 AARP Community Challenge grants, totaling just over $60,000. The grants fund projects aimed at improving public spaces, housing, transit and civic engagement, among other goals. Nationally, AARP awarded $3.8 million in grants for 343 projects this year.
In Massachusetts, AARP grants help support an eviction prevention program, bicycle programs and other enhancements to residents' lives.

City & State PA held an Aging in Pennsylvania Summit held October 17 at the Hilton Harrisburg to address the challenges and opportunities facing the state and its residents, who are among the oldest populations in the country. The Summit was presented by AARP Pennsylvania. Opening remarks by Joanne Grossi, AARP Volunteer State President Emeritus, set the tone for the two panel discussions as she told the audience and participants about caring and advocating for her father who has dementia.
