Together, AARP and the Barnes Foundation are offering the finest of art and history with four FREE virtual events this year. The Barnes features the world’s greatest collections of modern European paintings that include works by Renoir, Modigliani, Van Gogh, and Marie Laurencin. In addition to paintings, the Barnes has African art, Native American ceramics, Greek antiquities, Pennsylvania German furniture, and decorative ironwork.

HENDERSONVILLE, NC — By 2030, one-in every-five people in the U.S. will be 65 or older. In just a few short years, there will be more North Carolinians ages 65 and older than those under age 18.

If there is one thing everyone should understand, it is that “scammers” are career criminals skilled at the art of manipulation, and no one is immune. These crooks target people of any age; in fact, 41% of those who reported a fraud loss to the Federal Trade Commission in 2023 were under the age of 30. So, what can a person do if they experience fraud?

CHEYENNE - AARP recently released its Livability Index, a list of the most livable communities in the country recently, with Jackson ranking in the top-10 in the nation for communities with a population between 5,000 and 24,999.

For over 65 years, AARP has advocated in a non-partisan way for Americans 50 and older to have what they need to live their best life at any age, choosing where they want to live, and never being discriminated against because of their age, gender or financial status.

Wendell Alfred of Lewes has been selected as the new state president of AARP Delaware, the state office’s top volunteer role. AARP has more than 190,000 members in the state and is instrumental in improving the lives of older adults through information, advocacy, community service, local offerings and events. They’re mission is to give Delawareans more choices as to how they live as they age.
