Doral, Fla. – A global leader of a movement to make cities livable for people of all ages will weigh in Thursday on how Miami could redesign itself, thanks to AARP Florida and the Miami Downtown Development Authority.

The grant program, which is now in its second year, is part of AARP’s nationwide Livable Communities initiative, which aims to make communities great places to live for everyone.

AARP has long been recognized as a powerful national organization, but our continued success depends on being relevant and responsive to local communities.

Each day, more than 123,000 Delawareans serve as caregivers for family members. Families are doing their best to care for loved ones at home. But they cannot do it alone. They need help to balance work, family and caregiving. Why does Delaware law say you cannot have a nurse’s aide come into your home and administer medicines to your loved one while you’re at work? AARP and a coalition of partners want to change this law, and let families get real help at home.
