Public Hearings in November and December Offer Ratepayers Opportunity to Provide Testimony
AARP Kentucky announces Gary W. Adkins as its incoming Volunteer State President. His term as Volunteer State President begins January 1, 2024.
AARP Connecticut has selected nine recipients for its sixth Livable Communities Grant Program dedicated to fund quick-action projects in Connecticut communities that will help make immediate improvements or jumpstart long-term progress that will support residents. AARP Connecticut has funded 38 projects since the inception of the program in 2018.
Wish of a Lifetime, an AARP charitable affiliate, has fulfilled more than 2,500 wishes for adults 65 and older. The wishes are wide reaching, from introducing a grandparent to a grandchild they had only recently learned existed to helping a woman go to clown college.
Members of the LGBTQ+ community have fought for their rights yet continues to face obstacles as they age: social isolation, discrimination and limited access to health care. AARP has launched initiatives to help.
Fall is here and it won't be too much longer before the weather starts turning really cold and we'll want our homes to be nice and toasty. But paying for heat is expensive and a real burden for those with low or fixed incomes. If you find yourself in a situation where you cannot pay all or part of your utility bill, there is help.
The State Office has been busy. We want to share our work during the months of July, August, and September 2023.
