Wish of a Lifetime works to grant life-changing wishes to adults 65-plus. Since its inception in 2008, the group has fulfilled more than 2,700 wishes, including a record 292 in 2023.

Media professional Jackie Gil joins AARP Texas as Associate State Director of Communications. In her new role, she will support the thriving Houston and Austin communities by leading communication campaigns, managing media relations, and crafting compelling narratives highlighting the impactful work being done by AARP Texas teams.
Texas Sen. Cesar Blanco filed Senate Bill 1700, the Healthcare Expanded & Accessed Locally (HEAL Texans) Act. The bill expands health access by allowing full practice authority for nurse practitioners.
