Donnell Baker, 79, understands the need for family to stay close when a loved one is admitted to a veterans hospital. Thirteen years ago, her now-late husband, Army veteran and Medal of Honor recipient John F. Baker Jr., needed a medical procedure in Charleston. When he developed complications, she had to stay overnight at a hotel.
AARP Wyoming is seeking volunteers to join a Veterans Advisory Council, which will inform AARP Wyoming efforts in the space of Veterans, Military and Family outreach. AARP Veterans and Military Spouses Job Center brings together information and resources to help Kentucky’s 330,000 veterans and military spouses compete in today’s job market.
RALEIGH— AARP has launched the AARP Veterans and Military Spouses Job Center, a new digital platform bringing together valuable information and resources to help North Carolina’s nearly 800,000 veterans and military spouses compete in today’s job market. The job center includes a new Veterans Career Advantage Course to build on career planning and skills development to help navigate the job market. According to an AARP survey, more than half (56%) of employers say the experience and the use of skills in previous positions are 'very important' when evaluating applicants' skills.
