UPDATE: 9/20/13, 10:54 a.m.: AARP Massachusetts staff and volunteers enjoyed a successful 9/11 Day of Service, creating several decorated book folders for Generations Incorporated. The book folders will be used by volunteer reading coaches with Generations Incorporated, who work with Boston schoolchildren in grades K-3 to help improve the children's literacy skills. Watch a video of the Day of Service, and thank you to our wonderful volunteers who participated!
September 11 is a national day of service for AARP and organizations across the country, to honor the victims and heroes of September 11, 2001. This year, several AARP chapters and the state office staff will be participating in projects that benefit their communities.
Did you know AARP holds free community programs on preparing for retirement, how to age in place, caregiving, vital aging, preventing scams, and that AARP fights on real issues that matter to you and your family?
Ask volunteer Charles Everett what made him join the AARP Florida Speakers’ Bureau, and he says, “I want to give back to my community and I love to share information and knowledge.”
