AARP MN Recognizes Myrna Peterson for her Dedication and Commitment to Community Service with its Most Prestigious Volunteer Award
LaVerne Gilliam, from Shakopee, MN, has been selected to receive the 2020 AARP Minnesota Andrus Award for Community Service, the association’s most prestigious and visible state volunteer award for community service. AARP Minnesota selected Gilliam for her tireless volunteer work with multiple organizations in the community, including AARP, Second Harvest Heartland, the Metropolitan Area Agency on Aging, Maplewood Nature Center, Minnesota Wildlife Refuge, and Bike MN.
AARP Connecticut – advocates for people 50-plus in Connecticut and their families – will work with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to support legislation and issues that make our state a great place to live for people of all ages.
Mike Cussen of Paso Robles is the recipient of the 2022 AARP Andrus Award for Community Service in California.

Kathy Goeddel has been selected by AARP Oregon to receive the 2022 Andrus Award for Community Service, the Association’s most prestigious and visible state volunteer award. Recipients across the nation were chosen for the award, named for AARP founder Ethel Percy Andrus, for enhancing the lives of AARP members and prospective members, improving the community, and inspiring others to volunteer.
