WILMINGTON, NC – Dr. Shirley Gerrior of Wilmington was named the most prestigious AARP volunteer in North Carolina at a ceremony in her honor held here in July. The annual AARP Andrus Award tribute recognizes outstanding individuals age 50 and older who are sharing their experience, talents and skills to enrich the lives of others.
Jane Strommen of Fargo has been appointed to the AARP North Dakota Executive Council. Strommen currently works as a NDSU Extension Gerontology Specialist.
AARP is accepting nominations until July 15 for its 2022 Mississippi Andrus Award for Community Service, which honors 50+ Mississippians who are sharing their experience, talent, and skills to enrich the lives of their community members.
