As temperatures drop in many states, criminals are turning up the heat on their deceptive tactics. While utility scams happen year-round, scammers are especially active when customers rely on these essential services to stay warm and safe.
AARP has come to an agreement to sponsor the Peoples Debate as we continue to help inform voters on key issues and vote accordingly. The People's Debate will include only significant candidates.
The yearlong pandemic has triggered a big increase in romance scammers who prey on lonely people confined to their homes. Swindlers stalk matchmaking websites and shower their victims with attention and then have a seemingly plausible reason why they need money to make a trip to visit.
