This disruption affects individuals living on fixed incomes, many of whom rely on SNAP to afford groceries and maintain their health.

Grandkids played “pluck a duck” to win prizes of their choice and walked away with backpacks provided by AARP Virginia. Grandparents were provided free admission and everybody attending Grandparents Appreciation Day at the Virginia Museum of Transportation got free ice cream also provided by AARP.

The AARP Locust Grove Chapter 5239 work in their community is very extensive from helping veterans, organizing food drives, and more. Learn about their work and join them in the community. They meet the third Monday of every month at the Lake of the Woods Clubhouse. The meeting begins at 9:00 a.m. for coffee, snacks, and socializing, the actual meeting starts at 10:00 a.m. and always has a guest speaker.
When: Saturday, June 8, 2019, from 9:30 A.M.- 11:30 A.M
The 13th Annual Art of Aging Expo will be held on June 12, 2019, from 10 A.M- 2 P.M. at the Fredericksburg Expo Center.
