VirginiaNavigator, a statewide non-profit that provides free web-based resources for older adults, people with disabilities and their families, announced today the launch of the newest addition to its family of websites: VeteransNavigator.org. The comprehensive website – designed to serve and help Virginia veterans – was made possible thanks in part to a $100,000 grant from Dominion Resources, parent company of Dominion Virginia Power.
AARP Virginia is looking for people who want to make a difference in their community and in our state. We have several opportunities available for you to get involved as an AARP Virginia volunteer in southeast Virginia.
The Arlington Central Library is about to be very busy in the upcoming months as it hosts three AARP workshops which take place in October through November. The workshops are the AARP HomeFit Workshop, Life Reimagined: Discovering Your New Life Possibilities, and Caregiving 101: Preparing to Care for Your Loved One.

They can enable you to thrive as your living situation changes and happily welcome visitors to your home - from grandchildren to adult children and friends. You are invited to attend a free workshop to find out how simple changes to your home can create an environment where everyone is welcome, and where everyone can flourish.
AARP Virginia is dedicated to help end the fight against hunger. In order to do this we have dedicated the month of September to focusing on fighting hunger in all areas of Virginia with events all across the state.
AARP Blacksb urg chapter and the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) will conduct the 2016 Health and Wellness Fair on September 14th at the Christiansburg Recreation Center. You are invited to join the approximately 100 exhibitors and 500+ citizens expected to participate. This event will focus on citizen participation and healthy living. Successful aging is not just about medical conditions and their management, but about living a full and engaged life and how a community makes that possible.
