This is an opportunity to meet with other volunteers and staff, and learn more about becoming a part of the team. The Roanoke Community Ambassador Leadership Team met on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the Local Office on Aging. The group shared personal experiences such as a planned mission trip, recent certification in Career Facilitation, experiences volunteering in helping with SOL school testing supervision, as well as facilitating and participating in a 6 weeks Chronic Disease Self-management Workshop.

On Thursday, May 10, 2018, the SW Roanoke AARP Chapter 4652 celebrated it 27th anniversary at the Westhampton Christian Church in Roanoke. The theme of the event was "Looking Back, Moving Forward." Speaking at the event was Ben Crawford of the Blacksburg Chapter. Guests included Blacksburg Chapter member, Carol Crawford as well as Roanoke Eureka Chapter #0514 members, Mary Terry, President, James Jordan, VP and Doris Durham. Old albums from the SW Roanoke Chapter were exhibited. A time of good food and fun was had by all.
