As the state continues to expand its offerings of home- and community-based services, AARP is seeking volunteers to help support opportunities for Mississippians to age in place.

AARP has pushed for funding increases to the state’s Medicaid-funded home- and community-based services. One result: expanded services in Alcorn, Prentiss, Tippah and Tishomingo counties in the northeastern part of the state. Those services include home-delivered meals, transportation, home health services and in-home respite care to give family caregivers a break.

Find out how to access them by calling the Mississippi Division of Medicaid at 800-421-2408.

To become a volunteer advocate for these services, call AARP Mississippi at 866-554-5382 toll-free.
