Join AARP DC in congratulating Johnny Garcia, South Regional Advisor for Community, States and National Affairs, on being honored by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation with the 2016 Metro DC’s Finest Award. Each year, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation honors the city's most accomplished men and women who show exemplary leadership, are active in their community, and excel in their profession or business. This year Johnny was one of only sixteen honorees named from across the Greater Metro Area. The award ceremony took place on October 5th at the law offices of K &L Gates, LLP.

For a second consecutive year, AARP DC was a sponsor for the 2016 Citi Open®. The nine-day event (July 16-24) took place at the Rock Creek Park Tennis Center. The free tennis clinic conducted by acclaimed tennis coach Wayne Bryan, was offered by the DC State Office. Bryan is the father of the Bryan brothers, the number two Men's Doubles champs.
Citi Open® is almost here with top players John Isner, Juan Martin Del Potro, Tomas Berdych, Caroline Wozniaki, Samantha Stosur and Sloan Stephens, the 2015 Citi Open Women's winner. From July 16-24, Citi Open, one of the premiere tennis events, takes place at t he Rock Creek Park Tennis Center in Washington, DC. Access AARP-discounted Citi Open tickets through by clicking the discount code: DCTennis. The AARP DC Citi Open discount ticket code can also be used by non-AARP members. The discount code is usable for matches that are played only on Saturday, July 16 through Thursday, July 21.
AARP DC is now accepting nominations for its 2016 District of Columbia Andrus Award for Community Service, which honors 50+ Washingtonians who are sharing their experience, talent, and skills to enrich the lives of their community members.
