August is Fraud Fighting Month!
AARP in Kansas City volunteers created a stir with Fraud Watch Network resources at the 2016 Carver Day Celebration held at the Freedom School at Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church on July 9. The event was in celebration of the 1943 establishment of the George Washington Carver National Monument and also recognized the 100th birthday of the National Parks Service.
AARP’s annual policy solicitation process is open through July 31. Feedback from members and volunteers—on policies to support AARP's social impact priorities of health security, financial resilience and personal fulfillment—is critical to ensuring AARP policies are forward-looking and flexible enough to fulfill our social mission across 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Whether legislation was voted up or down, AARP Missouri was fighting for members and their families on legislation that matters.
The proverbial beans have been spilled! It has come to the attention of the AARP Missouri State Office that the Modern Woodmen of America's Hometown Hero Program has honored several AARP volunteers in past and present months! So - we'd like to share this good news.
