Those familiar with AARP’s Take A Stand campaign know full-well the imperativeness of acting to preserve Social Security for all citizens, but for American women –just over 157 million of them to be exact- the stakes are even higher. On June 3 rd AARP brought together thought leaders from both sides of the proverbial aisle for a Social Security and Women Summit on the specific challenges faced by women who rely on Social Security benefits.
Social Security needs to be updated for the 21 st century so we can keep the promise for future generations. If our nation’s leaders don’t act, future retirees could lose between $4,000 and $10,000 a year.
The AARP Smart Driver Course is the nation’s first and largest refresher course for drivers age 50 and older. This course will help reduce your chances of receiving a traffic violation, getting into an accident, or becoming injured. Anyone can benefit from a refresher course that helps them stay current with driving laws and new technology!

Twenty activists have been chosen as members of New Hampshire Senior Leadership, a collaboration among AARP New Hampshire, Center on Aging and Community Living at UNH, and Dartmouth Centers for Health and Aging. Now in its sixth year, the program is designed to build a state-wide corps of volunteers interested in advocating for people as they age in New Hampshire.
